Past external calendar events have disappeared (iOS)

This is often caused by the synchronization period not being long enough, and events outside of the time range are deleted.

How to fix

1. Open the iPhone settings screen
2. Tap “Calendar”
3. Tap “Sync”
4. Change “Events X months ago” to “All Events”
